The first long-life probiotic yogurt in aseptic packaging has been introduced by SIG and AnaBio Technologies. This revolutionary breakthrough introduces a whole new category of products: shelf-stable probiotic beverages in aseptic carton packs and spouted pouches that can be kept for extended periods of time without refrigeration.
Probiotics are linked to numerous health advantages, including enhanced immunity and gut health, according to consumers worldwide. Probiotics have not been able to be included in aseptic beverage packaging up until now since they do not tolerate the typical heat treatments used during processing. Additionally unstable when stored, probiotics are usually limited to use in refrigerated beverages with short shelf lives.
These limitations are removed by the combination of SIG's mild aseptic filling technology and AnaBio's encapsulation technology, which allows food and beverage manufacturers to create probiotic beverages with live probiotics that are packaged in carton packs and spouted pouches and can be stored at room temperature for extended periods of time without refrigeration. This is a brand-new product that meets consumer demand for wholesome, delectable, and nourishing probiotic beverages in eco-friendly, practical packaging.
